BADGER focus:
Regional Transportation Planning

Transportation planners have noted that existing local land use management plans do not adequately address the transportation needs of the growing area. Companies such as Amazon, AutoZone, Reser’s, FedEx and Darigold are capitalizing on our land use planning and interstate highways to establish or expand their operations here. While these developments are beneficial, it is crucial to evaluate whether our local infrastructure effectively supports movement between neighborhoods and aligns services with local transportation demand.

How will we transport people and goods in the future? If historical patterns are any indication, individuals may continue to rely on their vehicles, with traffic congestion becoming more frequent.
Do our transportation agencies have far-sighted plans that will improve the connectivity for the population that is here and the growth that is coming? We’ll ask the experts in our next Badger Forum at Noon, Thursday, July 17. REGISTER HERE
